Abstract: ABSTRACT FIBER OPTIC TEMPERATURE SENSOR WITH CERAMIC COMPOSITE COATING A fiber optic temperature sensing system (100) comprises a fiber optic sensor probe (10) having an etched sensing region. A multilayer optical structure (20) is disposed on the etched sensing region. The multilayer optical structure (20) comprises a ceramic composite coating configured to interact with an evanescent field extending from the fiber optic sensor probe (10). A light source (30) is optically coupled to the fiber optic sensor probe (10) and configured to transmit light through the fiber optic sensor probe (10). A spectrometer (40) is optically coupled to the fiber optic sensor probe (10) and configured to receive transmitted light after interaction with the multilayer optical structure (20). A quartz chamber (12) encloses the etched sensing region of the fiber optic sensor probe (10). (Fig. 1)
