MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641096865 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 11, 2026, for Fire Rescue System With Coordinated Autonomous Drone Fleet, Predictive Digital Twin, And Adaptive Inflatable Evacuation Deployment.
Inventors include Praveen T; Divyadharshin I R; and Vaishnavi R.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT FIRE RESCUE SYSTEM WITH COORDINATED AUTONOMOUS DRONE FLEET, PREDICTIVE DIGITAL TWIN, AND ADAPTIVE INFLATABLE EVACUATION DEPLOYMENT A fire rescue system (100) comprises a building-integrated sensor network (104), an emergency AI control unit (102) with a data fusion and fire confirmation engine (103) that confirms a fire emergency and activates rescue deployment, and a coordinated autonomous drone fleet (110) deployed from a docking station (106), the coordinated autonomous drone fleet (110) collectively carrying a thermal imaging sensor (122), a LiDAR sensor (124), and a visual imaging sensor (126). A digital twin generation module (130) fuses sensor data into a live three-dimensional digital twin (132) updated throughout the rescue operation. A predictive fire intelligence engine (140) generates a forecast of fire spread, smoke movement, and structural degradation. An evacuation path planning module (150) selects and recalculates an evacuation route (152) predicted to remain traversable. A rescue drone (118), responsive to a determination that conventional exits are predicted to become unsafe, selects a structurally secure evacuation point from the digital twin (132) and deploys an adaptive inflatable rescue slide/bridge (170) comprising an inflation source (172), an anchoring arrangement (174), a load sensor (176), and a wind compensation actuator (178).
