Abstract: ABSTRACT The Food Calorie Estimation System is an artificial intelligence–based application designed to automatically identify food items from images and estimate their calorie and nutritional values. With the increasing prevalence of lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart problems, monitoring daily calorie intake has become essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Traditional calorie tracking methods require manual input and nutritional knowledge, which can be time-consuming and inaccurate. This system addresses these challenges by using deep learning and computer vision techniques to recognize food items from images and provide instant calorie information, making diet monitoring easier and more efficient. The system is developed using modern technologies such as Python, deep learning frameworks, and image processing libraries. A trained deep learning model analyses uploaded food images, identifies the food item, and maps it to a nutritional database to estimate calorie and macro-nutrient values. The application includes a user-friendly web interface where users can upload images and instantly receive nutritional insights. The system architecture includes multiple components such as the user interface layer, image processing module, AI recognition model, and nutritional database, ensuring efficient data processing and accurate results. This project demonstrates the potential of artificial intelligence in the digital healthcare and nutrition monitoring domain. The Food Calorie Estimation System encourages healthy eating habits by increasing awareness about calorie intake and balanced nutrition. It also has strong potential for real-world applications in hospitals, fitness centres, corporate wellness programs, and personal diet management.
