Abstract: Disclosed is a leftover-food recipe presentation apparatus having a platform defining an imaging region, a support retaining an image-capture device above the imaging region, and a light-shielding shroud movable between open and closed positions. A linkage couples shroud movement to the support to register a camera with the imaging region. An illumination source directs light toward leftover food when the shroud is closed. A communication interface transfers a captured image to an image- recognition service and transfers returned identified-food data to a recipe-generation service. A display presents recipes generated from the identified-food data and, after user selection, presents sequential preparation instructions for reusing the leftover food.
