MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641091221 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on July 27, 2026, for Food Monitoring And Preservation System And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Kanchana Devi V; Umamaheswari E; Vadali Venkata Vyas; Rohan Krishna Das; and Aditya Vikram Mahanta.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (100). The system (100) may include a storage assembly (102) having a plurality of compartments to store food items, a gas sensor (104) positioned within each of the plurality of compartments to measure gas concentration data within the storage assembly (102), a compressor (106) to regulate a temperature within the storage assembly (102), and a controller (202). The controller (202) may receive the gas concentration data measured by the gas sensor (104) determine a change in the gas concentration data based on successive measurements of the gas sensor (104) compare the change in the gas concentration data with a threshold determine an accelerated ripening condition of the food items when the change in the gas concentration data exceeds the threshold and actuate the compressor (106) to adjust the temperature within the storage assembly (102) based on the accelerated ripening condition.
