MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092893 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education on July 31, 2026, for Food Product Storage Cabin With Automated Rotary Shelving System.
Inventors include Dr. S. Shasi; and Dr. P. Jayakumar.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The titled invention discloses a food product storage and display cabinet (1) for bakeries, _restaurants,_ and food service establishments„comprising an enclosure cabin (1) having a transparent front glass door (2) and a rotary rack assembly (9) 10 mounted inside on a horizontal axle, said rotary rack assembly carrying a plurality of individual shelf sections (8) arranged radially for displaying food items. A stepper motor drive (7) is coupled to a rotary drive hub (6) and a central hub (10) for rotating the rack assembly in discrete angular increments under the control of a microcontroller interface. A user input keypad (4) is provided on the cabin for entering a unique code 15 corresponding to a specific shelf section, and an LCD display (5) provides visual feedback of the selected code and shelf positioning status. A rack stabilizer hub (11) is operatively associated with the rotary rack assembly to maintain each shelf section in a substantially horizontal orientation throughout rotation, preventing food items from tipping or spilling. In operation, upon entry of the unique code through the keypad (4), 20 the microcontroller drives the stepper motor (7) to rotate the rotary rack (9) and bring the selected shelf section (8) directly to the front transparent door (2), placing the desired food item within easy reach of the server without requiring stretching or reaching deep into the cabin. The cabinet further includes portable wheels (3) at its bottom for easy mobility.
