MUMBAI, India, Oct. 19 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611096837 A) filed by Rupesh Kumar; Dr. Sachendra Kumar Mittal; and Dr. Leena Jadon Pt on August 11, 2026, for Formalin Exposure Alert Wearable Badge For Anatomy Students.
Inventors include Dr. Sachendra Kumar Mittal; and Dr. Leena Jadon Pt.
The application for the patent was published on October 16, 2026, under issue no. 42/2026.
Abstract: The invention comprises a wearable electronic badge configured to be attached to a laboratory apron or coat near the breathing zone of the user. The badge incorporates a formaldehyde gas sensor, a microcontroller, memory, visual indicators, audible alarm, vibration motor, display module, rechargeable power supply, and communication interface. The sensor continuously measures ambient formaldehyde concentration. The microcontroller calculates cumulative exposure over time and compares measured values with predefined occupational safety thresholds. When exposure reaches warning levels, the device activates colored LED indicators, audible alarms, and vibration alerts while simultaneously displaying current concentration and cumulative exposure values. Exposure data are stored in internal memory and associated with the user's identification. At the end of each laboratory session, authorized faculty members may reset the cumulative exposure through QR code or RFID authentication.
