Abstract: The present subject matter provides a method and a system for gas leakage detection in a vehicle (100). The method comprises one or more operations executed by a control unit (104) of the system. The control unit (104) determines a first weight value based on received parameters and then determines a difference between the determined first weight value and a second weight value. The control unit (104) compares the determined difference with a threshold value and detects a gas leakage in the vehicle (100) when the determined difference is greater than the threshold value. The control unit (104) further generates one or more control signals based on the detected gas leakage. At least one control signal being generated to lock-off gas fuel supply to a power unit (108) of the vehicle (100) based on the detected gas leakage.
