The unit (100) integrates a patron authentication module (110) supporting RFID card, biometric fingerprint, and QR code authentication; an RFID reader and tag management subsystem (120) for contactless book identification throughout the lending lifecycle; a generative AI recommendation and content engine (130) employing a large language model, collaborative filtering, and retrieval-augmented generation to produce personalized book recommendations and AI-authored content previews; a book storage and automated dispensing mechanism (140) comprising electronically controlled storage slots and a three-axis robotic retrieval arm for physical book dispensing and return; a touchscreen interactive user interface (150) for patron interaction; a central control and processing unit (160) orchestrating all subsystems; a library management system interface module (170) for real-time LMS synchronization; a network communication module (180); and a power and security management subsystem (190). The unit (100) operates autonomously, extending library access beyond conventional hours.
