Abstract: This invention focuses on the therapeutic effects of ginger-derived exosomes (G-ELNs) to improve glucose and lipid metabolism in the type 2 diabetes mellitus. Studies demonstrated that G-ELNs enhanced insulin sensitivity in insulin-resistant HepG2 cells by enhancing the expression of p-Akt-2, thus reducing gluconeogenesis and oxidative stress. In T2DM mice models, G-ELNs restored hepatic glucose and lipid homeostasis by modulating key metabolic enzymes and pathways. Thus, this invention sheds light on an innovative, safer approach for managing T2DM and associated metabolic disorders.
