Abstract: The present invention discloses a glucose infusion monitoring system for intravenous administration in healthcare settings. The system comprises a load cell weight sensor continuously measuring glucose infusion bottle weight, an Arduino Nano microcontroller processing weight data against threshold conditions, an audible siren alert for healthcare staff notification, and an electromagnetic solenoid plunger mechanism for automatic physical occlusion of the infusion tube. When bottle weight reaches a minimum threshold or remains unchanged for one minute indicating flow stagnation, the siren is activated. If no bottle replacement occurs within one minute of siren activation, the solenoid engages to block the infusion tube, preventing air embolism and blood backflow. The system provides dual-condition detection, timed escalation from alert to shutoff, and manual reset capability. Constructed from low-cost components, the system costs approximately 1150 Indian Rupees and achieves 85 to 95 percent cost reduction over existing commercial alternatives while providing automated physical failsafe intervention.
