MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641082713 A) filed by Saveetha Engineering College on July 05, 2026, for Graphene-Based Hybrid Electrodes With Enhanced Surface Area And Conductivity For Supercapacitors In Next-Generation.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a graphene-based hybrid electrode system for high-performance supercapacitors used in next- generation energy storage applications. The system comprises a material preparation module, a graphene dispersion module, a hybrid material synthesis module, a porous architecture formation module, a conductive binder integration module, an electrode coating module, a thermal drying and consolidation module, an electrode assembly module, an electrochemical monitoring module, a performance optimization module, a supercapacitor cell assembly, and a performance evaluation module. Graphene nanosheets are uniformly dispersed and integrated with conductive nanostructures and pseudocapacitive active materials to form an interconnected conductive network having hierarchical pore architecture that enhances electrolyte accessibility and charge transport. The monitoring and optimization modules regulate fabrication parameters to obtain consistent electrochemical characteristics. The fabricated hybrid electrode exhibits improved electrical conductivity, enhanced electrochemically active surface area, efficient ion diffusion, reduced internal resistance, superior cyclic stability, and reliable electrochemical performance suitable for advanced supercapacitor systems.
