MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641122981 A) filed by Rajalakshmi Engineering College on October 14, 2026, for Green Synthesis Of Zno-Zro2-Feo Ternary Nanoparticles Using Antigonon Leptopus Flower Extract For Wastewater Treatment.

Inventors include Dr. S. Mohandoss; and P. V. Nandhini.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: This invention is about preparation a ZnO-Zr02-Fe0 nanocomposite using Antigonon leptopus flower extract instead of chemicals. ZnO, Zr02, and FeO nanoparticles are first prepared using the extract, then combined to form the nanocomposite. It is analyzed using XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis, XPS, BET, SEM, and EDX. The nanocomposite removes organic dye [Methylene blue/Rhodamine 13]. under [UV-light source] and shows strong antibacterial activity against [ Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa]— better than the individual nanoparticles alone. This gives a cheap, eco-friendly way to make a material that's good at both cleaning dye pollution and destroy bacteria. Overall, this gives a low-cost, eco-friendly way to make a nanocomposite that works better than the single nanoparticles for both cleaning up dye pollution and fighting bacteria.
