Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a GSM-enabled intelligent access control and security system (101) comprising a GSM communication device (102), a microcontroller (104), a memory (106), an electromechanical door actuator (110), and a display device (108). The GSM communication device (102) receives an SMS message from a remote mobile device (100). The microcontroller (104) authenticates a sender mobile number and validates an access password and a number of persons requesting entry. Upon successful validation, the microcontroller (104) controls the electromechanical door actuator (110) to open a door (112) for a duration based on the number of persons and subsequently lock the door (112). Upon unsuccessful validation, a failed-attempt count is incremented and an alert SMS is transmitted. When the count reaches a predetermined threshold, subsequent access requests are rejected until an authorized restoration command is authenticated. FIG. 1
