Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for real-time hand gesture recognition using a vision-based approach and machine learning classification. The system captures video frames, preprocesses input data, and extracts three-dimensional hand landmarks representing finger joints and palm structure. Spatial relationships between landmarks are encoded into feature vectors, which are processed using trained classification models to recognize gestures. The system operates without the need for wearable sensors and provides robust performance under varying environmental conditions. Recognized gestures are translated into commands or textual outputs, enabling intuitive and contactless human-computer interaction. The invention provides a scalable, efficient, and low-latency solution suitable for applications including assistive communication, virtual control systems, and interactive interfaces.
