MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411094203 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges on November 30, 2024, for Hand-Held Rust Removal Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. Sushil Kumar; Pardeep Tiwana; Sapna Saini; Uday Aggarwal; and Yash Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: A hand-held rust removal assistive device, comprising a cylindrical shaped hollow body 101 having a first and second portion positioned by a user in proximity to a metallic surface via a handle 102 attached with the first portion, a conical shaped member 103 attached with the body 101 is accessed by user to fill sand particles, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 104 paired with an IR sensor detects presence of rust over the metallic surface, a laser emitter integrated on the body 101 projects a laser light on the surroundings to guide user in positioning second portion of the body 101, a triggering unit 105 pressed by the user to initiate blowing of the sand particles, and an air compressor 201 arranged within the body 101 dispense highly pressurized compressed air towards second portion of the body 101 for removing rust from the metallic surface.
