Abstract: ABSTRACT “HANDHELD AUTOMATED DEVICE FOR FORENSIC COLLECTION AND CONTAINMENT OF NAIL DEBRIS” The present invention relates to a handheld, b-oatterperatedy forensic device for the collection and containment of debris from under human fingernails. The device comprises a housing enclosing a power source, a debris collection module including a micro-brush and/or suction-based extraction mechanism, and a sealed containment system for capturing and preserving collected material. Interchangeable sterile tips enable hygienic and safe operation, while a removable, tamper-evident cartridge supports secure storage and chain-of-custody compliance. The device is configured for single-handed operation with a simple control interface and visual indicators. The invention provides a standardized and efficient alternative to manual collection methods, improving sample yield, reducing contamination risk, and enhancing the reliability of forensic analysis.
