Abstract: ABSTRACT [0012] The Haptic Smart Stick for Both Blind and Deaf Users with GPS and Panic Alert represents an innovative assistive technology that integrates ultrasonic obstacle detection, haptic feedback, real-time GPS tracking, and IoT-based emergency communication into a single compact and user-friendly device. This system is specifically designed to address the mobility and safety challenges faced by individuals with visual and hearing impairments by relying primarily on vibration-based alerts rather than audio signals. The invention proposes a smart cane that continuously monitors the surrounding environment for obstacles, delivers intuitive haptic warnings through varying vibration patterns, tracks the user’s location via GPS, and instantly transmits emergency coordinates to caregivers through the Telegram messaging platform when the panic button is activated. By combining embedded systems with IoT connectivity, the device offers enhanced independence, safety, and responsiveness in both indoor and outdoor settings. Its novel focus on dual accessibility for blind and deaf users, along with cost-effective components and reliable haptic communication, sets it apart from conventional smart sticks that often depend on sound-based feedback. The project demonstrates how thoughtful integration of sensors, microcontrollers, and wireless technologies can create a practical solution that significantly improves daily navigation and emergency support for vulnerable users.
