Abstract: A computer-implemented method and navigation system (100) for health-aware route navigation. The method includes receiving route input data including an origin location, a destination location, and a respiratory condition severity level. Environmental data including air quality data (206), traffic data (208), weather data (204), and pollen data (210) is acquired from external data sources (138) based on differentiated time-to-live values. Candidate routes are generated and divided into segments. For each segment, environmental data corresponding to a segment midpoint is fetched and a segment risk score is computed by normalizing environmental values, applying weighted factors, scaling to produce a base risk score, and multiplying by a severity multiplier. A cumulative route risk score is computed by weighting segment risk scores by proportional distance contributions and summing the weighted scores. Routes are classified into risk categories, ranked, and presented to the user. (FIG. 1)
