Abstract: ABSTRACT: Title: Heat-Reducing, Bio-Mineral based Terrace Coating Composition and Method of Preparation Thereof The present invention relates to a bio-mineral based heat-reducing coating composition and a method for preparing and applying the same on terraces, rooftops and other exposed construction surfaces. The coating composition comprises hydrated lime, rice husk ash, a biologically prepared dung-bittern filtrate (DBF), a dung-bittern fatty emulsion (DBFE), kadukkai (Terminalia chebula) extract and water. The DBF is obtained by soaking fresh cow dung in a bittern-water solution followed by filtration, while the DBFE is prepared by emulsifying the DBF with egg yolk and free fatty acids. The composition is prepared by sequentially mixing the mineral and biological constituents to obtain a homogeneous coating suitable for application without water curing. The applied coating provides reduced solar heat absorption, is substantially free of volatile organic compounds, permits pedestrian traffic within approximately six hours, and is renewable through sacrificial top recoating without removal of the underlying coating.
