Abstract: HERBAL MODIFICATION OF ZINC OXIDE USING MYRISTICA FRAGRANS OIL FOR ANTIMICROBIAL DENTAL APPLICATIONS The present invention relates to a herbal modification of zinc oxide using Myristica fragrans oil for antimicrobial dental applications. The formulation comprises zinc oxide powder mixed with Myristica fragrans oil in predetermined ratios to form a homogeneous obturating composition. The herbal formulation exhibits antimicrobial activity against Streptococcus mutans along with anti-inflammatory and biocompatible properties. The invention provides a natural and cost-effective alternative to conventional zinc oxide–eugenol compositions while reducing tissue irritation and improving biodegradability. The formulation is particularly useful in pediatric endodontic procedures and other dental therapeutic applications.
