Abstract: The present invention discloses a herbal nanoparticle-based pharmaceutical formulation for the treatment and management of diabetic neuropathy. The formulation comprises bioactive phytochemicals including curcumin, quercetin, resveratrol, and berberine encapsulated within chitosan-based polymeric nanoparticles prepared by the ionic gelation method using sodium tripolyphosphate as a crosslinking agent. The nanoparticle system significantly enhances bioavailability, stability, and targeted delivery of the herbal compounds. Experimental evaluation in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats demonstrated that the herbal nanoparticle treatment significantly reduced blood glucose levels, improved thermal pain response, decreased malondialdehyde levels, and restored superoxide dismutase activity in peripheral nerve tissue. The therapeutic outcomes were comparable to standard drug treatment and superior to free herbal compounds, establishing the formulation as a promising, cost- effective, biocompatible approach for diabetic neuropathy management with significant clinical translation potential.
