MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411100235 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research, An Indian on December 17, 2024, for Heterocyclic Carboxamide Compound As Succinate Dehydrogenase Inhibitors And A Process Of Preparation Thereof.
Inventors include Surender Singh Jadav; Shasi Vardhan Kalivendi; Sunil Misra; Basireddy Venkata Subba Reddy; Swapnil Anil Sule; Vidya Jyothi Alli; Jhansi Mamilla; and Bukya Supriya.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The existing SDH inhibitors in the agromarket are prevailing as one of the most important class of fungicides. The Thiazole carboxamide analogues were designed based one the bioisosteric approach and synthesized to screen against agro-fungal species include Alternaria solani (MTCC-2101), Pyriculariaoryzae (MTCC 1477), Helminthosporiumsolani (MTCC-1899), Fusarium oxysporum (MTCC-2087), Candida albicans (MTCC-227) and Candida tropicalis (MTCC 230). All these test strains were obtained from MTCC, Chandigarh, India. Further these analogues also exhibited action on mitochondrial respiratory chain in Pichia species. Thus, the current invention of thiazole carboxamides may be fundamental in discovery of new agro-antifungal agents.
