Abstract: TITLE: HETEROGENEOUS NANO-CATALYST FOR BIO-ETHANOL PRODUCTION ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a heterogeneous nano-catalyst for bio-ethanol production. The catalyst comprises functional groups covalently bonded to a solid material and immobilized on an inorganic support to form a nanostructured composite. The invention further provides catalytic and biochemical processes for the conversion of carbohydrate-containing biomass under controlled conditions. The nano-catalyst exhibits enhanced acidity, high surface area, and structural stability, enabling efficient catalytic and biochemical transformations. The preparation process involves thermal treatment of a carbon-containing precursor, introduction of functional groups, incorporation of an inorganic support, and recovery and drying of the composite material. The catalyst is uniformly dispersed over the support, ensuring reproducibility and stable performance. The invention provides a versatile platform for heterogeneous catalytic and biochemical processes involving biomass-derived substrates.
