MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641080424 A) filed by Prasad V Potluri Siddhartha Institute Of Technology on June 30, 2026, for Hybrid Ai-Based Safety System.
Inventors include Haritha Thotakura; and Dr. C. Subbarao.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a Raspberry Pi-driven multimodal artificial intelligence surveillance system for enhancing women's safety through autonomous threat detection and emergency response. The system employs deep learning-based acoustic event recognition to detect distress sounds and activates a computer vision module configured with YOLOv_8 for, identifying weapon presence, physical- assault— and kidnapping scenarios. An intelligent decision engine performs audio- visual sensor fusion and false-positive filtering using ensemble learning techniques. Upon confirmation of a threat, the system captures multimedia evidence, acquires GPS coordinates, and transmits encrypted alerts to emergency contacts using communication protocols such as Telegram API. The entire framework operates using edge Al processing on Raspberry Pi without reliance on cloud infrastructure, thereby providing low-latency, scalable, and reliable real-time safety monitoring.
