Abstract: This intelligent system integrates a GSM-enabled water pump controller that allows farmers to operate irrigation pumps through simple SMS or missed call commands, making it highly practical for remote and long-distance farming operations. By reducing dependency on manual supervision, it improves convenience, saves labour, and guarantees timely irrigation even in hard-to-reach areas. The system is designed with a strong focus on cost efficiency without compromising reliability and performance. It incorporates intelligent sensors to continuously monitor soil moisture, water level, and electrical parameters. Soil moisture sensing enables the system to irrigate only when required, preventing over-irrigation and conserving water. Water level monitoring avoids tank overflow and dry running of pumps, minimizing wastage and protecting equipment. To ensure safe and dependable operation, the system includes multiple protection mechanisms such as phase failure protection, overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, dry run protection, and motor overtemperature protection. Whenever a fault condition is detected, instant GSM alerts are sent to the user, allowing quick corrective action and preventing serious damage to the motor pump and electrical components. Compact, rugged, and low-maintenance, the system is suitable for both agricultural and small-scale industrial applications. Its intelligent sensor integration and robust protection features enhance automation, extend equipment lifespan, and improve overall efficiency.
