Abstract: The present invention generally pertains to a hybrid encryption model for secure storage of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in cloud environments. The invention is a secure environment for safeguarding sensitive health care data including patient records, medical history, diagnosis information, prescriptions, and clinical data against unauthorised access, data leakage and cyber attacks. The proposed system utilizes both symmetric and asymmetric encryption methods to ensure efficient and secure storage of health care data in the cloud. The system has the following modules: data preprocessing module, data classification module, hybrid encryption module, key generation and management module, secure cloud storage module, authentication and access control module, and data retrieval module. Healthcare records are gathered, treated and categorized with appropriate confidentiality in mind prior to encryption. The hybrid encryption module provides fast encryption of large EHR files with symmetric encryption and secure encryption and exchange of cryptographic keys with asymmetric encryption. The key management module is designed to safely create, keep, and distribute encryption keys, meaning that only those who have authorization access to the protected healthcare information. The encrypted EHR data is stored in the cloud with extra security in place to stop unauthorized changes and access to the data. The authentication and access control module ensures that users are authenticated and have the necessary access privileges prior to retrieving and decrypting data. The invention provides multi-layer security protection to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy of the EHRs. The system minimizes the security concerns of cloud healthcare systems and allows for the secure exchange of medical data between healthcare providers, patients, and organizations with appropriate consent. The proposed hybrid encryption model is an efficient, scalable, and reliable solution for secure management of healthcare data in the cloud.
