Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid, modular and intelligent atmospheric water generation (AWG) system configured to extract water from ambient air using liquid absorbents and/or solid adsorbents. The system enables efficient operation across varying environmental conditions including low humidity environments. The invention provides multiple absorber, adsorber, and desorber configurations including packed beds, spray columns, bubble columns, structured surfaces, thin film contactors, and rotating packed beds, within a modular and reconfigurable architecture. Thermally regulated structured surfaces enhance simultaneous heat and mass transfer for improved moisture capture and regeneration efficiency. Regeneration of moisture rich absorbents and/or adsorbents is performed using thermal heating, vacuum desorption, air stripping, vapour compression, membrane based desorption, or combinations thereof, with selective utilization of solar and non-solar energy. Energy efficiency is improved through heat recovery and closed loop thermal integration. The system incorporates sensor based monitoring and adaptive control systems including machine learning, predictive optimization, and digital twin frameworks for dynamic selection and optimization of absorption, adsorption, desorption and energy management.
