MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641089577 A) filed by Velammal Engineering College on July 23, 2026, for Hybrid Solar- Powered Ai - Enabled Multi - Hazard Environmental Monitoring And Early Warning System.

Inventors include T. Ramya; V. Praveena; M. Arul Thilagavathi; and M. A. Seshaiah.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid solar-powered AI-enabled multi-hazard environmental monitoring and early warning system for continuous monitoring of environmental conditions and predictive disaster management. The system comprises a solar photovoltaic power unit, an intelligent energy management module, a multi-parameter environmental sensing unit, an embedded edge-processing controller, a LoRa communication module, an Internet of Things (IoT) cloud platform, an Artificial Intelligence (Al)-based Adaptive Multi-Hazard Prediction Engine, a Disaster Confidence Estimation Module, and an emergency notification subsystem. Environmental data are processed to compute a Dynamic Hazard Index for predicting hazards including floods, landslides, forest fires, cyclones, and industrial gas leakages. The system dynamically optimizes power consumption and communication frequency while providing real-time hazard prediction and automated early warning alerts through multiple communication channels. The invention offers an autonomous, scalable, energy-efficient, and reliable solution for environmental monitoring and disaster risk reduction in remote and infrastructure-limited regions.
