Inventors include Dr. Cuddalore Namrata Mahender; Mr. Madhav Ashok Kankhar; Dr. Ramesh Ram Naik; and Ms. Rajashri Ganesh Kanke.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: An intelligent Marathi optical character recognition-to-Braille conversion system is provided for converting printed Marathi text into tactile Braille information. The system comprises an image acquisition unit, an image preprocessing unit, an optical character recognition processing unit, a Unicode normalization processing unit, a Braille mapping processing unit, a Braille matrix generation unit, a binary encoding unit, a validation processing unit, a processor, a memory unit, and an output interface. The image preprocessing unit processes an acquired document image, the optical character recognition processing unit generates Marathi character data, and the Unicode normalization processing unit standardizes the character data. The Braille mapping processing unit maps the standardized characters to Bharti Braille patterns, while the Braille matrix generation unit generates six-dot Braille matrices and the binary encoding unit generates corresponding binary data. The validation processing unit validates recognized characters using convolutional processing before tactile output.
