Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a credit-card transaction processing system for real-time fraud detection. A transaction interface receives historical records containing fraudulent and legitimate classes and a current transaction. A preprocessing engine transforms record features into transaction vectors, and a resampling engine applies a Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique to produce a class-balanced training dataset. A model-training engine trains multiple supervised classification models. A model- evaluation engine evaluates the models using imbalance-sensitive performance metrics and selects a classification model. An inference engine applies the selected model to a vector generated from the current transaction to classify the transaction as fraudulent or legitimate. In response to a fraudulent classification, a transaction- control interface causes transaction blocking, generation of a fraud alert, or referral of the transaction for manual review.
