The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: An impact protection system (100) for a protective headgear (102) includes a headgear shell (102A), a plurality of inflatable air pockets (104) disposed along an inner surface of headgear body (102A), one or more sensors (106) to detect impact parameters associated with an impact event to generate sensor data, and a control unit (108) operatively coupled with one or more sensors (106) to receive and process sensor data to determine whether the impact exceeds a threshold. The control unit (108) may further determine a spatial location and severity level of impact and associate the spatial location with a corresponding zone of the headgear (102). Based on severity level, the control unit (108) may regulate a pneumatic inflation system (110) to selectively inflate one or more air pockets (104) to provide localized protection and control a pressure control subsystem (204) to prevent over-expansion and enable controlled deflation following the impact event.
