Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for reducing phosphorous content in oil feedstock, said process comprising steps of: a. providing an oil feedstock; b. treating the oil feedstock with an acid; c. contacting the reaction mixture of step b) in presence of one or more phospholipases under condition allowing enzymatic hydrolysis of phospholipids in the oil feedstock; and d. separation of reaction mixture of step c), wherein the acid treatment and the enzymatic hydrolysis is performed in the same tank/vessel.
