Abstract: The present invention relates to an indicator device for a draw-out type vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) within an electrical panel. The indicator device is designed to provide a clear, reliable, and easily visible indication of the VCB's position (Test, Intermediate, or Service) from the exterior of the panel. The device comprises an indicator assembly mounted on the medium voltage (MV) door, including a pointer, an indicator plate with distinct sections, and a driven indicator link. A locking channel side assembly, fixed over the panel, includes a driving link, a spring, and a pivot pin. A racking channel side assembly includes a bolted cylindrical cam fixed on the racking channel. The driving link, under angular motion over a fixed pivot point, is in contact with the cam, which moves inside the panel along with the racking channel. When the MV door is closed, the driven indicator link temporarily contacts the driving link, transferring the angular motion to the driven indicator link and causing the pointer to indicate the VCB's position on the indicator plate. This invention enhances operator safety, improves operational efficiency, and ensures high visibility even in low-light conditions.
