MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202627000241 A) filed by Koatsu Co. , Ltd. on January 02, 2026, for Injection Head Equipped With Silencing Means For Gas-Based Fire Extinguishing Equipment.

Inventors include Yabushita Masahiro; Kamo Mitsunori; and Watanabe Keiichiro.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: Provided is an injection head equipped with a silencing means for gas-based fire extinguishing equipment, the injection head having improved performance for dispersing fire extinguishing agent gas without a decrease in silencing performance, the injection head thus being suitably usable with, e.g., low flow-rate fire extinguishing equipment with an extended fire extinguishing agent gas emission time, and a fire extinguishing target section having a large floor area relative to volume. An injection head 1A equipped with a silencing means is installed in gas-based fire extinguishing equipment that uses a fire extinguishing agent gas, to discharge the fire extinguishing agent gas to a fire extinguishing target section. The silencing means is composed of a silencing member 4 made of a porous material disposed at an outlet portion of an orifice 31, through which porous material gas can flow. The silencing member 4 is provided with an exposed portion 4A of which a circumferential end face is open to the atmosphere, and a high-speed discharge portion 4B from which the fire extinguishing agent gas is discharged in a specific direction at a higher speed than the speed at which the fire extinguishing agent gas is discharged from the exposed portion 4A. The exposed portion 4A and the high- speed discharge portion 4B are partitioned.
