MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521004658 A) filed by Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd on January 21, 2025, for Inline Mounting Stamped Liftoff Side Door Hinge.

Abstract: ABSTRACT INLINE MOUNTING STAMPED LIFTOFF SIDE DOOR HINGE An inline mounting stamped liftoff side door hinge 100 comprises a body side hinge leaf (1), a press fit hole for an inline mounting press-fitted collar nut (6) with serrations (6.2), and a bolt hole for an outside mounting bolt (7). A cold-forged pin (3) with a stepped design and entry chamfer (3.1) is riveted to the body side hinge leaf (1), while a nor glide bush (4) is positioned within the body side hinge leaf (1) to facilitate smooth operation. The lift-off nut (5) engages with the pin (3) to secure the door side hinge leaf (2). The press-fitted collar nut (6) prevents rotation during bolt tightening, and the outside mounting bolt (7) provides additional clamping force. This hinge assembly is particularly suitable for automotive applications where ease of door removal and reinstallation is essential. [
