Abstract: The present invention discloses an integrated modular system and method for treating transformer oil-containing wastewater generated during transformer accidents and maintenance in power systems. The system comprises a multi-compartment gravity oil separator with adjustable removable baffles, an automated oil-layer sensing and discharge unit with a capacitance-based sensor and programmable logic controller, a continuous-flow chemical demulsification reactor using an organosilicon polyether demulsifier, and an adaptive dosing control unit with inline effluent quality sensing and variable-speed dosing. Under optimal gravity separation conditions of volume ratio 2:1:1, flow rate 0.0055 L/s, and initial water level 5 cm, the effluent oil concentration is reduced to 0.020 mg/L with removal efficiency above 99.99%. Under optimal demulsification conditions of pH 3–5, dosage 300 mg/L, and temperature 50°C, the demulsifier achieves 95.09% demulsification efficiency and 99.50% dehydration rate. The staged combination enables efficient treatment of transformer oily wastewater.
