Abstract: The present invention discloses an integrated photovoltaic–photoelectrochemical (PV–PEC) system for simultaneous generation of electrical power and hydrogen fuel using a CZTSSe thin-film solar absorber. The system comprises a substrate, back electrical contact, CZTSSe absorber layer, buffer layer, protective passivation layer, catalyst-coated photoelectrochemical interface, electrolyte chamber, gas separation assembly, hydrogen storage subsystem, and intelligent control electronics. Upon solar illumination, photogenerated charge carriers are selectively routed through dual pathways, wherein a first portion is utilized for electrical power generation and a second portion drives hydrogen evolution reactions. A membrane-based gas management subsystem collects, purifies, and stores hydrogen for subsequent use. The control system dynamically allocates current between electricity generation and hydrogen production based on operational requirements. The invention further incorporates thermal management, safety monitoring, leak detection, and vehicle integration features, thereby providing a compact, efficient, and vehicle-compatible renewable energy platform for simultaneous solar electricity and hydrogen generation.
