Abstract: The Internet of Things represents a burgeoning field that envisions a connected universe comprising both tangible and intangible entities, devices, processes, and services, which can offer a novel perspective on their interconnection through the Internet. The Internet of Things, as a component of the Future Internet, is characterised as a framework that primarily amalgamates and facilitates various technologies and communication solutions; a significant focus is on delineating how existing standard communication protocols may bolster the actualisation of this vision. The swift growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) has resulted in an abundance of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and ad hoc networks, which underpin contemporary applications in healthcare, smart cities, industrial automation, and disaster management. Nonetheless, the intrinsic limitations of these networks—especially restricted energy availability and susceptibility to various routing assaults—present considerable obstacles to their effectiveness and dependability. The Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare necessitates a resilient and effective networking solution for seamless data transmission and network functionality. Deep Learning (DL) is a recognised subset of Machine Learning (ML) that has demonstrated significant potential in improving network efficiency via astute data analysis and informed decision-making. The forthcoming generation of telecommunications networks is anticipated to accommodate an increasing array of intelligent devices, including mobile phones, sensors, and various interconnected objects, to facilitate real-time applications and integrate intelligence and reliability inside the network framework. To fulfil these criteria, the forthcoming iteration of technology (6G) anticipates the integration of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and edge computing. The demand for traffic data continues to escalate, propelled not only by end-users' persistent desire for superior video quality in traditional video-on-demand and emerging social networking apps, but also by machine-to-machine communication and the operation of burgeoning cloud services.
