Abstract: The present invention relates to an autonomous multi-functional indoor service robotic system, Intelli-Port, designed to perform intelligent assistance tasks including autonomous cleaning, baggage transportation, and human-following operations. The system integrates a multi-sensor perception framework comprising a Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensor, an RGB-D camera, infrared (IR) sensors, and an onboard computing platform to enable robust environmental perception, localization, navigation, and obstacle avoidance in dynamic indoor environments. The robotic system employs Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) techniques for real-time map generation and localization, combined with vision-based perception and proximity sensing for accurate human detection and tracking. A Robot Operating System( ROS)-based software architecture coordinates sensor fusion, autonomous path planning, motion control, and task execution to ensure reliable operation under varying environmental conditions. The modular hardware and software architecture enables scalable deployment for multiple indoor service applications while enhancing navigation accuracy, operational safety, and environmental awareness. The proposed invention provides an integrated autonomous robotic platform capable of intelligent indoor assistance with minimal human intervention, making it suitable for applications in hospitals, airports, hotels, shopping malls, offices, educational institutions, and smart buildings.
