Abstract: The present invention belongs to the technical field of vehicles. Provided are an intelligent electronic water pump control system and method for a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. The system comprises a hybrid control unit, an engine system controller and an electronic water pump; the hybrid control unit is used for determining a combination water pump rotation speed of the electronic water pump and sending the combination water pump rotation speed to the engine system controller, and also, on the basis of a fault level of the engine system controller, carrying out fault post-processing; the engine system controller is used for controlling, on the basis of the combination water pump rotation speed, the electronic water pump, and also determining, on the basis of a fault type, the fault level of the engine system controller, and sending the fault level of the engine system controller to the hybrid control unit; the electronic water pump determines own fault type and sends the fault type to the engine system controller, and is also responsible for self-operation after a fault. The present invention defines corresponding fault levels for fault types of the electronic water pump, such that corresponding post-processing can be performed, thus achieving more reasonable and more accurate control.
