Abstract: Intelligent Gas Stove System with Remote Control, Overflow Detection, and Automatic Shut-Off ABSTRACT This paper proposes the design and development of a Smart Automated Stove Safety System aimed at improving kitchen safety, convenience, and efficiency. The system integrates five key features using IoT and sensor- based automation. The first feature is whistle detection with auto shut off, where a sound sensor monitors pressure cooker whistles. Users set the desired whistle count via a mobile app, and once reached, the app sends an alarm; if no response is received within a set time, the stove automatically shuts off. The second feature enables remote stove monitoring and control, allowing users to check stove status and remotely turn it OFF from anywhere using the mobile app. The third feature is milk overflow detection, in which an IR or ultrasonic sensor detects rising foam during milk boiling and triggers an automatic shut off to prevent spillage. The fourth feature is no vessel detection, where a load cell or IR sensor identifies vessel presence; if no vessel is detected for a predefined time, the system sends a mobile alert and, if ignored, shuts off the stove automatically. The fifth and unique feature introduces smart human presence detection using microwave radar or PIR sensors. Unlike conventional absence-based shut off, the system applies intelligent logic: cooking continues during active processes (whistle counting or milk boiling), but if the stove remains idle with no vessel and no user presence, an alarm is raised and auto shut off is triggered. By combining these features, the proposed system enhances cooking safety, prevents accidents, supports elderly users, and delivers reliable smart kitchen automation.
