Abstract: A system and method for preventing misconducts within an organization by predicting operational activities and intelligently managing them in the governance of said organization are disclosed. The invention provides a machine learning based framework for identifying, predicting, and mitigating operational misconduct that integrates governance interventions, machine learning analytics and adaptive allocation of regulatory resources. The framework continuously captures operational data on a range of organisational activities such as inspections, environmental emissions, executive transactions, customer complaints, operational performance measurement, as well as compliance documentation etc. The data is ingested by a predictive analytics engine, which estimates probability of misconduct on operational entities and produces dynamic risk-scores. Furthermore, the invention provides a regulatory optimization engine for distributing inspections, audits and compliance interventions by using predicted operational risk. It makes use of the criticality of the operational units, optimises the efficiency of the inspection systems and minimises the waste of resources. A governance integration module assesses how well the governance structures in the organisation, such as positions of sustainability leadership, compliance executives and measures of operational accountability, are working together. The invention is mainly concerned with an improvement of the governance confirming the relationship of governance reform with the operational outcomes in order to enhance the ethical performance and minimize the incidence of misconduct. The framework also includes simulation models that can test the viability of other enforcement options, inspection timing, and governance policies, depending on the various operational conditions. This helps organizations and regulators to maximize operational oversight and compliance management. The invention can be used in manufacturing systems, healthcare operations, environmental compliance management, food service operations and supply chain infrastructures, financial operations etc. The framework compounds a heightened integrity of the organisation, more efficient regulations, safeguarding public safety, better environment stewardship and accountability of operations, and the mitigation of operational failures related to misconduct.
