Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an intelligent human-following smart shopping trolley integrated with QR-based product authentication, self-billing, smart lid control, digital payment verification, obstacle detection, and GSM-based notification. The system comprises a microcontroller, a QR/barcode scanner, a navigation subsystem, a billing module, a communication module, and a storage compartment provided with a smart lid mechanism. Upon successful scanning and authentication of a product, the microcontroller updates billing information and temporarily actuates the smart lid to permit insertion of the authenticated product, following which the lid automatically returns to a closed state. The trolley autonomously follows a user while avoiding obstacles through sensor-based navigation. During checkout, a payment verification module confirms completion of a transaction and actuates the smart lid to a retrieval state for product collection. A GSM module transmits billing and transaction information to a registered user device. The invention enhances shopping convenience, billing efficiency, product security, and retail automation.
