MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411104076 A) filed by Lovely Professional University on December 28, 2024, for Intelligent Iot-Driven Hydroponic System For Indoor Saffron Cultivation.
Inventors include Indu Bala; and Ch. Ravi Sankar.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent IoT-driven hydroponic system designed for the indoor cultivation of saffron, which integrates a sophisticated multi- microcontroller architecture to automate and optimize growing conditions. The system comprises a hydroponic setup with multiple containers, each equipped with a nutrient solution delivery system to supply essential minerals. A Raspberry Pi serves as the master controller, coordinating operations and processing data from several ESP32 microcontrollers, which act as slave controllers. These microcontrollers are connected to various sensors, including pH, temperature, and light intensity sensors, for real-time environmental monitoring. Actuators such as water pumps and grow lights are controlled by the ESP32 microcontrollers to adjust conditions based on sensor data and commands from the Raspberry Pi. A network communication protocol ensures seamless data exchange and command execution, while a user interface accessible via a computing device allows for remote monitoring and control.
