Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE OF INVENTION: Intelligent jute fibre assessment system An intelligent jute fibre assessment system for measuring five parameters of the jute, comprises an integrated image capturing and processing unit(5), colour measurement unit(7) and a strength measurement unit(8) for providing colour , bundle strength, root content, defects and fineness based gradation of fibers. Said image capturing and processing unit(5) provides for capturing images of test jute fibre sample and processing the same to generate output indicating root content, fineness and defects of said test jute fibre sample; said colour measurement unit(7) provides for generating output indicating whiteness value of said test jute fibre sample; said strength measurement unit(8) provides for generating output indicating bundle strength of said test jute fibre sample; and cooperative processor means operatively connected to integrate inputs from said image capturing and processing unit, said colour measurement unit and said strength measurement unit and generating fibre grade outputs based thereon enabling fibre assessment.
