MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641080549 A) filed by Narsimha Reddy Engineering College Nrcm on June 30, 2026, for Intelligent Network Usage Monitoring Router With Ai-Based Bandwidth Abuse Detection.

Inventors include Dr Ramesh Babu P; Pennada Surya Ganesh; D Kalpana; Hanumaji Kantari; R Anuradha; and K Lavanya.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: An intelligent network usage monitoring router (110) incorporating an embedded AI inference engine (140) for real-time bandwidth abuse detection is disclosed. A traffic acquisition module (120) extracts packet metadata, and a feature extraction engine (130) generates behavior vectors. A behavioral profile database (160) maintains baseline statistics. An anomaly scoring module (170) computes deviation indices processed by a governance controller (180), which triggers enforcement through an enforcement engine (190). The system performs on-device AI inference without exporting raw traffic data, thereby reducing latency and preserving privacy. Adaptive traffic shaping is autonomously applied to mitigate bandwidth abuse in residential and enterprise networks.
