MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641093720 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on August 03, 2026, for Intelligent Systems For Reducing Fire And Rescue Response Time In Urban And Rural Emergency Scenarios.
Inventors include Ms. Kalaivani T; Yuvaraj C; Raja Thinakaran V; and Vishnu D.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: Fire incidents remain a major threat not only in densely packed urban zones but also in far-off rural areas, usually resulting in delayed response by emergency services, property damage, destruction of the environment, and the unfortunate death of human beings. Usually, under most circumstances, traditional fire detection systems depend on either manual alerts or individual sensors, which could cause delays in detecting the occurrence of fire incidences and thus exacerbate the disaster scenario. For such reasons, this project introduces an efficient smart fire alert and safety system which integrates the strengths of IoT and AI technologies to detect and mitigate any fire hazard incidents through rapid detection, accurate and reliable alerts of emergencies. The proposed system is made up of sophisticated sensors that include smoke, temperature, flame, and gas sensors linked to microcontrollers. Whenever there is an abnormality that suggests that there may be a fire, the fire prevention system immediately sets off automatic safety measures like cutting off the electricity in order to avoid any short circuiting, setting off sprinklers to douse the fire, and sending immediate alerts to residents living close by, the authorities of the building, and the fire department. A GPS unit helps to determine the location of the fire. In addition, artificial intelligence is used in analyzing the images captured by cameras in order to ascertain whether there is a real fire. This architectural structure will consist of hardware parts, wireless communication tools, cloud-based backend solutions, as well as an easy-to-use mobile app that allows for real-time monitoring, remote control, and immediate alerts.
