Abstract: ABSTRACT Intelligent VOC-Responsive Tactile Food Packaging System for Spoilage Detection and Accessible Braille Indication The present invention relates to an intelligent VOC-responsive tactile food packaging system for spoilage detection and accessible spoilage indication through chemically responsive tactile transformation and Braille-based communication. The system comprises a packaging substrate layer configured to support food containment and responsive packaging integration, and a selective VOC sensing layer configured to detect spoilage-associated volatile organic compounds released during food degradation processes. A tactile actuation layer physically deforms in response to detected spoilage-associated gases and mechanically generates tactile protrusion corresponding to spoilage conditions. A Braille indication layer produces raised tactile spoilage indication patterns for facilitating accessible food safety communication to visually impaired users. A protective permeable membrane layer selectively permits passage of target spoilage-associated gases while restricting environmental contamination, and a stabilization and encapsulation layer maintains structural integrity and operational stability of the packaging system. The integrated passive spoilage-responsive tactile communication framework improves food safety monitoring, enhances tactile accessibility, reduces accidental consumption of spoiled food products, and supports accessibility-oriented intelligent food packaging applications without requiring external electrical power or electronic processing circuitry
