Abstract: [06] Adequate illumination is essential for accurate diagnosis, operative precision, and procedural efficiency in dentistry. Conventional dental illumination is commonly provided by overhead chair-mounted lights or external operatory lamps. Although these systems are widely used, they may require repeated manual repositioning when the patient moves, may produce shadows from the clinician’s hands and instruments, and may inadequately illuminate posterior and anatomically difficult intraoral areas. This work presents a novel intraoral LED palate light designed to provide direct illumination of the mandibular teeth and surrounding oral structures. The proposed device consists of a compact LED illumination unit integrated with a suction cup-based fixation mechanism, allowing temporary attachment to the patient’s hard palate. Once positioned, the device provides hands-free intraoral lighting from within the oral cavity and maintains a stable illumination angle relative to the operative field despite minor patient head movement. The invention is intended to improve visibility, reduce shadow formation, minimize dependence on bulky external light systems, and enhance portability for use in dental clinics, outreach camps, mobile dental units, and emergency settings. The device architecture, working principle, advantages, safety considerations, and proposed validation methods are discussed. The proposed palatal suction-mounted LED apparatus represents a compact and clinically useful accessory for improving intraoral illumination, particularly during procedures involving mandibular teeth and posterior oral regions.
